In this lesson we discuss the Urdu script briefly. You’ll get to know that
- Urdu is written from right to left
- There are 39 letters in the alphabet
- Most letters connect to letters that come before them, but not after them
- Each letter can be written in up to four different ways depending on its position in a word
- There are 10 vowels (3 short and 7 long)
- There are two scripts – nasta’līq and naskh. When typing, I’ll always use nasta’līq and you should too 🙂
You will learn how to write the first nine letters in this video. Let us know how we’re doing and what else you’d like to learn below! Thank you for watching!
